October 3 1936 - Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA began a Pacific crossing upon sailing from Vancouver on October 3rd, 1936.

Among the passengers were several Missionaries and religious personnel from Quebec travelling to various locations in the Orient.  The Dominican Order, Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, Sulpicians, Franciscans, Sisters of the Precious Blood, and Ursuline Sisters were all represented.

Commander F. R. Davey

Director of the Sassoon banking house in Shanghai.

Perry Burgess

Of New York, Managing Director of the Leonard Wood Memorial Foundation.

Virgil M. Griffin

En route to Manila as Assistant Manager of the West Coast Life Insurance Company.

George  Fusavet

Canadian Pacific Agent at Manila.

J. J. Pates

Hong Kong, Standard Vacuum Oil Company official.
