October 3 1929 - Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by A. J. Hailey, began a Pacific crossing upon sailing from Vancouver on October 3rd, 1929.

A moderate cargo was reported.

The ship carried108 Saloon Class, 106 Second Class, 43 Third Class and about 500 Steerage passengers. 

Several passengers were sailing to Japan to participate in the third biennial conference of the Institute of Pacific Relations.
