October 24 1931 - Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by L. D. Douglas, began a Pacific crossing upon sailing from Vancouver on October 24^th, 1931. 

On this voyage Captain Douglas returned from vacation and rejoined the EMPRESS OF ASIA.  Captain Lovegrove, who been replacing Douglas, returned to the EMPRESS OF JAPAN. 

The ship carried a passenger list of 550.  

A good cargo was reported.

The passenger list included W. Cameron Forbes, United States Ambassador to Japan, who was returning to Japan.
