June 29 1935 - Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by A. V. R. Lovegrove, began a Pacific crossing upon sailing from Vancouver on June 29th, 1935.

A passenger list of 325 was reported.

Included were four tour parties one from Vancouver led by Anna Stewart, a second from Boston led by Walter H. Woods, a third from Victoria led by Dr. W. J. Sipprell, and a fourth organized by the Rudolph Travel Service of St. Louis.

Anna Stewart, of British Columbia was very successful member of the province’s travel industry and organized many tours to the Orient aboard Canadian Pacific Steamships vessels.  The tour on the EMPRESS OF ASIA consisted of a party of 15 women from Victoria, Vancouver, Toronto and Detroit.
