June 10 1936 - Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by A. V. R. Lovegrove, began a Pacific crossing upon sailing from Vancouver on June 10th, 1936.  On this voyage the ship would stop at Hawaii before reaching Yokohama. A large passenger list was reported, many of whom were destined for Honolulu.

The ship also carried nine Jesuit Priests from New York en route to the Philippines on mission assignments.

Mrs. G. Brownell of Tuscaloosa, Alabama led a group of 12 members on a world tour.
