Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA began a Pacific crossing upon sailing from Vancouver on February 6^th, 1925. A record train crossing of 84 hours from Montreal to Vancouver brought 500 bags of mail and passengers for the EMPRESS OF ASIA. Both passengers and mail reached St. John, New Brunswick aboard the MONTLAURIER on February 1^st, having sailed from Liverpool on January 24^th. When China was reached on February 18^th, only 25 days had elapsed since departing Liverpool.

Before entering Victoria the ship was forced to anchor at Royal Roads for several hours awaiting the departure of the AORANGI.

A cargo of 3,000 tons and a passenger list of 300 were reported. The cargo included a large shipment of automobiles destined for Manila.
