August 8 1929 - Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA began a Pacific crossing upon sailing from Vancouver on August 8th, 1929.

The ship carried approximately 125 First Class, 125 Second Class, 50 Third Class and about 275 Steerage passengers. 

Included were 60 missionaries returning to China and Japan after summer holidays in the Canada and the United States.
