The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by George Goold, concluded a Pacific crossing upon reaching Vancouver on October 17th, 1938.  On the voyage the ship experienced strong southerly winds and some fog off the coast of Vancouver Island, delaying the arrival at Victoria by several hours.
