November 1 1937 - Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by G. Goold, concluded a Pacific crossing upon reaching Vancouver on November 1st, 1937.  Fog was encountered off Vancouver Island that delayed the arrival to Victoria by several hours.  On the crossing the ship carried a light passenger of 140 passengers with only 54 in Steerage.  The passengers included some refugees fleeing the Sino-Japanese conflict in China.
