May 17 1930 - Notable Passengers
The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by L. D. Douglas, concluded a Pacific crossing upon reaching Vancouver on May17th, 1930. A fair passage with some fog while approaching Vancouver Island was reported. Cargo comprised 2,714 tons of Chinese and Japanese products, 969 bales of raw silk and 117 cases of manufactured silk goods.
The ship reported 124 First Class, 62 Second Class, 35 Third Class and 392 Steerage passengers.
