March 27 1937 - Notable Passengers
The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by G. Goold, concluded a Pacific crossing upon reaching Vancouver on March 27th, 1937. On the voyage the ship experienced stormy weather west of the Meridian that delayed arrival to Victoria be several hours. On the crossing the ship carried passengers, cargo mail.
While berthed at Victoria the ship
sounded her whistle in recognition of the PRINCESS PATRICIA, a retired Canadian
Pacific ship that was being towed into the inner harbour destined for the
breakers.
