July 27 1936 - Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by A. V. R. Lovegrove concluded a Pacific crossing upon reaching Vancouver on July 27th 1936. Foggy weathered was encountered on the North Pacific but seas were very calm and smooth providing for a pleasant passage.  On this crossing the EMPRESS OF ASIA carried passengers, general cargo and mail.  The passengers included 78 cabin passengers and 102 in steerage.  Several carloads of silk were carried some of which was discharged at Victoria for shipment to the East Coast by way of Panama.  After arriving at Vancouver the EMPRESS OF ASIA would return to Victoria for summer overhaul.

Passengers also included three families from the Dutch East Indies who are on a vacation trip to Holland.
