February 9 1929 - Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by A. J. Hailey, concluded a Pacific crossing upon reaching Vancouver on February 9th, 1929. The ship reported a small passenger list with only 182 passengers comprising 28 First Class, 14 Second Class, 22 Third Class and 118 Steerage.

A good cargo was reported with 23 tons discharged at Victoria and 4,290 tons at Vancouver.  Cargo included 3,107 bales of raw silk destined for eastern mills, 1, 680 bags of mail for Canada and the United States and 23 bags for the mail airplane.
