April 6 1929 - Notable Passengers

The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by A. J. Hailey, concluded a Pacific crossing upon reaching Vancouver on April 6th, 1929. The ship reported 742 passengers with 125 First Class, 70 Second Class, 56 Third Class and 491 Steerage.

Cargo was reported with 56 tons discharged at Victoria and 3,364 tons at Vancouver.  Included were 3,529 bales of raw silk.

Joseph Avenol, Deputy Secretary of the League of Nations accompanied by his secretary Henri Bonnet boarded at Yokohama en route to France.
